SIGNAGE
It’s probably considered culturally insensitive to be laughing at signage in a foreign country, but here we go…
Hmm… “do not exotic dance on the stairs for people to photograph?”
CARDBOARD PEOPLE
Asians love cardboard cutouts. They are everywhere. It’s a far friendlier replacement for doormen, if you ask me.
GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEMS
Koreans export tons of cars, appliances, and electronics worldwide, so obviously you’d expect to find awesome technology in Korea. Check out the GPS navi in a standard cab! It puts whatever we use in the US to shame. Map view and street view on the same screen! Turn-by-turn directions for the next two steps!
The funny thing is that we used Uber Taxi one night. The cab pulled up, and it had one of these. But since it was an Uber-directed ride, the driver had to mount his phone next to it and use the GPS in the Uber app. It looked so primitive, that it was pathetic. The driver had a really hard time following it and drove very slowly on the freeway… no wonder there was almost no Uber presence in Seoul.
CONVENIENCE STORES
For about $2.50, you can buy real strawberry. Because you gotta announce yourself when you’re not fake.
Lamborghini cigarettes! Do they, like, burn faster than other cigarettes?
The end! Time to plan our next vacation!
