I had never been a gambler. Phil, too, had changed quite a bit since the days when he’d drop $20 into a coin pushing machine at a random gas station. So when we sat down at a slot machine in Macau, it was mostly ceremonial. He pressed the buttons a few times, and was ready to cash out the remainder.
The automated kiosks provided cash in whole Hong Kong dollars. Phil still had HKD$0.10 (slightly over 1 penny USD) on the ticket and decided to find the cashier window, wait in line, and get all his money back. The cashier ladies had a good chuckle.
The rest of the fun we had in Hong Kong were about finding movie filming locations. For example, this is where the cop fell from the rooftop in that iconic Inferno Affairs scene:
And we traced Jackie Chan’s footsteps a bit. Note that all of the below were Photoshopped. We probably could have saved quite a bit of trouble if we had simply asked a third person to take these photos, but we did not.
